2023 RENOVATION PROJECT
We are proud to announce that we are making a bold investment in our library through a comprehensive renovation of our building and grounds so the library will be an asset to the community and a destination for residents for many years to come!
ABOUT THE RENOVATION PROJECT
The library’s upper level will be redesigned to house an updated book collection with a permanent children’s section along with a redesigned patron service area and stations for technology. Our lower level will become a community center with a lounge reading area, tutoring and studying space for students, and a meeting area for the public and all of our upcoming programs. The library will be freshly painted, a new floor will be installed, our restrooms will be upgraded, and both floors will be reconfigured and newly furnished.
Out of an abundance of caution for the public’s health and safety, our building will be closed for just over a month as the renovation work is completed during April and May. This will enable us to finish the renovation work in a timely manner so we can make our facilities available for a series of upcoming programs and the return of community favorites, including the children’s summer programs.
But don’t worry! The library is committed to maintaining a presence in the community as the building is being renovated. We recognize that things have looked a little different at the library over the last few months as we’ve prepared for this renovation. We ask for your further patience over the next few weeks as we take this exciting and long overdue step to build a bright future for the Jamesburg Public Library!
We hope to see you at the library and invite you to sign up for a library card, check out some books, and participate in some programs at our grand reopening later this spring!
